Wednesday, February 26 & Thursday, February 27, 2020
4:30 – 6:30pm / Free and open to the public

Harvey Preston Gallery is pleased to announce a public demonstration by Takashi Nakazato, a current Visiting Artist at Anderson Ranch Arts Center and master potter from Karatsu, Japan.

Takashi Nakazato represents the 13th generation of an unbroken line of family potters dating back to the late 1300s. Due to their high level of mastery in the area of ceramics, the Nakazato family is a designated National Living Treasure of Japan. Takashi’s work typically combines elements of his Japanese heritage with his own innovative style and approach, known as Karatsu-Nanban.

Takashi will be demonstrating wheel-throwing techniques in the gallery. Join us for the entire 2 hours or stay for 15 minutes. We will have examples of Takashi’s work on view in the gallery.

Please don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to watch a master potter at work.
